Summary: This panel will discuss how national security agencies are collaborating with tech giants, academia and industry startups. Dr. Jaret Riddick specializes in developing next generation vehicles for the Army working with companies like Uber to improve the Army's fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles. Douglas Maughan works with Homeland Security's Silicon Valley Innovation Program to acquire new cybersecurity capabilities. Paulo Dutra, a former US Air Force Special Agent and member of the FBI’s Cyber Task Force, now oversees an In-Q-Tel portfolio of world class startups building products for the Intelligence Community.

David Bao and Barbara Morton will discuss how they work together and engage technology companies to improve veterans' experience.

Government Innovation Hubs Panel

Summary: This panel will discuss progress at some of the top government innovation hubs to attract new technology companies to government work. Exploring open challenges, code-a-thons, and accelerators to improve diagnostics and new ways of applying emerging technology to strengthen IT infrastructure and cybersecurity as well as increase efficiency.

Angela Colter leads 18F,  the organization stood up by GSA to partner with federal agencies to build and buy digital services that improve the user experience of government. Sanjay Koyani oversees new approaches like code-a-thons and accelerators to engage new tech companies to tackle Health and Human Services challenges. Nadia Carlsten leads the Transition to Product program in the Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate where her team introduces cybersecurity research done in DHS labs to commercial companies.
