What Do Top 10 Tech Workplaces Have in Common?

If you’ve ever wondered what makes a technology company the most employee-friendly, it’s where workers feel they can be their authentic selves, regardless of age, gender, race or position in the company. That’s according to research into the 2018 Best Workplaces in Technology list.

Great Place to Work surveyed more than 79,000 diverse employees across the IT landscape for feedback and input. More than 50 workplace elements were assessed, like trust in managers, work pride, compensation, fairness, camaraderie and traits associated with innovation.

Below are the Best Workplaces in Technology findings.

Top 10 Large Workplaces in Technology:

  1. Ultimate Software
  2. Workday, Inc.
  3. Salesforce
  4. World Wide Technology, Inc.
  5. SAP America, Inc.
  6. Zillow Group
  7. Intuit Inc.
  9. VMWare, Inc.
  10. Adobe Systems Incorporated

The report also found 30 percent of tech workers still don’t feel like they can be themselves at work, which can reduce employee effort and retention — and the best workplaces experience half the voluntary turnover than that of peer companies. Employees at companies with “winning” cultures are more likely to recruit friends, leading to lower turnover rates and more diverse workplace.
